Amber Campion is the creator of DRM: Dynamic Release Method and has been teaching Yoga, Mindfulness, Bodywork, and other release techniques for more than a decade. This, combined with her studies in neuro-linguistics programming and transformational coaching, Amber has a unique approach to teaching and change-making. Emerging from NYC, she has been privileged to study with many of the pioneers in bringing Yoga (specifically Yoga Therapy) to the West, such as Peter Sterios, Nischala Joy Devi, & Leslie Kaminoff.  She also attributes her 7 years teaching incarcerated youth in NYC as her highest teachers. She continues to study mind/body practices extensively with renowned teachers of yoga, personal development, and the martial arts. She is known across the globe for teaching awareness practices in a practical, purposeful, and deeply powerful manner.

DRM is a practice that will awaken you to the core so you can

bring your full self to the world.

The effects of DRM seek to revitalize the nervous system keeping dis-ease from evolving into one word: disease. It's a balancing and grounding flow fusing both Yang (active) and Yin (passive) energies. This method is designed to build intelligence and deep release in the physical body as well as the emotional/mental body through a practice based on the principle of balancing polarities:

Sthira (Stability/Integrity/Refinement)

Sukha (Mobility/Flexibility/Expression)

DRM gracefully guides students to safely develop physical strength, create space for deep release in the body and mind, as well as cultivate the flow of inner power or vital life force, also known as Prana or Qi.

Real. That is what I think of when I think of Amber and her teaching. In and out of the studio, on and off the mat, she is true to herself and her work is a reflection of that. She is badass in her own practice and in the work she creates. She is motivating, inspiring, creative, funny and authentically, REAL.

The 'issues in our tissues' can create more than discomfort in our bodies and minds, it can hold us back from actualizing the life we truly want (and are meant) to live. As we build up layers of resistance we move farther and farther away from being able to clearly hear our souls call and voyage on the inner quest of fulfillment. Release and Receive is a workshop that will help to cultivate awareness of the mind/body connection on a powerfully deep, yet practical level, while also holding space for authentic insight as we embark on an inner quest (a vision quest) towards releasing resistance.

"When people ask us how long does it take for something to manifest, we say, "It takes as long as it takes you to release the resistance. Could be 30 years, could be 40 years, could be 50 years, could be a week. Could be tomorrow afternoon." ~Abraham (Hicks)

Amber is a divine leader and powerful teacher - Release & Receive is one of the best workshops I’ve been to for myself and for learning more about yoga philosophies and techniques! Knowledge from various styles of yoga was presented and each technique was taught with emphasis on form. Definitely take this workshop if you want to expand your understanding of deep emotional release and relaxation.

This 3 hour master workshop is a practice of deep release, allowing for your true power and authentic self to emerge.

Tantra means 'a device for expansion' and through the power of breath practice we will elevate our vital energy to a place that feels both grounded and ecstatic. Then we will move into Thai Bodywork, known as the "Lazy Man's Yoga". A deep and powerful practice of giving and receiving. To close, we will transition into self-myofascial release using tennis balls. By the end of the 3 hours your body will be supple, your mind will be calm, your breath will be rich, and your heart will sing! This workshop is not only experiential but also an opportunity to learn new techniques you can take away with you and use forever for your overall well-being.

Entering Satori (blindfolded chakra flow): Ken means "seeing," shō means "nature" or "essence." Satori is a Zen concept that occurs when attention rests in the present moment. In this space it is said that the body is alert yet relaxed and emotions are open and free. The gateway to Satori can be accessed in sports, dance, music, or any other challenging activity. It is a space of non-resistance and much healing can be fueled in Satori.

The movement of this workshop will be guided blindfolded and each chakra will be carefully balanced as students flow through a simple, yet powerful sequence of movement, mantra, and pranayama. The students are blindfolded so that a deeper sense of “seeing”  can be accessed, a guide from within. This will help to align students with more attuned focus so that a more complete clearing of the chakras can occur.

Prerequisite: must have a foundational knowledge of basic yoga postures

Amber is an inspiring teacher and a delightful person. In touch with the true and complete soul of yoga, Amber understands and embodies the deep transformative power of yoga as a vehicle for expanding consciousness, healing, self-empowerment, and accessing and transforming the subconscious self. Her Entering Satori (blindfolded class) was especially powerful. Through a combination of hatha yoga, something that falls between guided meditation and deep hypnosis, coupled with a fascination for and extensive knowledge of the neuroscience behind yoga, Amber created a powerful container for breaking open deeply hidden aspects of the subconscious self. This allowed for not only a deep healing and transformation of unwholesome mental formations, but a sharp clarity that induced a feeling of complete wholeness within the Self and All-That-Is, likened to, if not more potent than shamanic healing through ayahuasca or other plant medicine ceremonies.

Everything that is alive pulsates with energy and all of this energy contains information.

Our bodies are made of energetic pathways (nadis/meridians) and when these channels are blocked due to unaddressed or unreleased emotions the body begins to imprint itself with dis-harmony, causing dis-ease in the body, the mind and the spirit. They become “issues in our tissues.”

This workshop will begin to expose and clear these blockages through a very powerful, dynamic, and unique practice combining transformative modalities of the East (Yogic Practices) and the West (Applied Psychology). The goal of this training is to create space for consciousness and creativity to flow, unlocking stored personal power.

The practice incorporates asana for mood enhancement, pranayama & meditation for stress release, forgiveness, & clarity, Self Myofascial Release + Restorative/Yin yoga for deep release, ‘Woundology’ journaling for self-reflection and insight, reflective listening + partner work for a deeper understanding and connection to self and others.

“What is real for you?”, she asked the class. “What is real for you right now?”
I admire the authenticity that Amber brings to her teaching. She really does embrace “the beauty and brutality of life”, asking her students to bravely confront whatever they are facing so that they can move forward again. Her no-nonsense attitude reassures students that they are not alone in whatever challenges they are facing. She sugarcoats nothing, but brings humor into her stories at exactly the right moments. While Amber demonstrates some of the poses as she speaks (often just using some arm motions to show how the spine should move, etc.) the vast majority of the time she is walking at a measured pace around the room. The degree of vigilance that Amber employs with regards to her students allows her to correct alignment immediately, and to get a strong sense of how the class is feeling both mentally and emotionally at any moment.
I love that Amber invited her students to engage in “contemplative movement”, listening to their own intuition about how their body should move. At first this instruction seemed difficult for people to follow, but by the end of the class the students really seemed to be totally entranced, listening to their internal voice (perhaps for the very first time). Her classes really take on the art of theater in many ways, and without realizing it her students flow through moments of reflection, of humor, of effort, and of release. It is truly a gift to experience.
